About Us
We live on a small farm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have cattle, pigs, goats, chickens, and occasionally a couple of turkeys roaming around our farm. All of our milk used in our products comes from our two Oberhasli goats, Paige and Annabelle. You can see these two characters on our farm site. www.sugarridgefarm.net
I started handcrafting natural lotions and soaps about 10 years ago to help my dry skin. I really love the results of natural products and the ability to keep harsh chemicals off my skin. I had a really difficult time finding a lotion that would soak in well and keep skin soft and supple so it wouldn't get itchy due to the dryness. I make a goat milk lotion that is light and soaks in very well and an intensive cream that is heavier and works on very troubled areas.
My first attmpt at making soap was quite interesting. I had no idea what I was doing, but my sister Sandy talked me into trying to make it when she was here for a visit from Utah. Sandy is always talking me into trying new things…not all of them have been successful just so you know, but that’s another story. So we made the soap and although it was probably the worst soap I have ever made, it still worked great and changed how it felt to wash my skin. It washes off clean and doesn't leave skin feeling tight and dry. I have been using handcrafted soap since. My first batch of soap was Goat Milk soap and I still make most of my soap with Goat Milk because of the moisturizing properties and nutrients it contains.
I take great pride in the quality of my products and only use high quality and organic ingredients in them. All products are made from scratch and in small batches......no pre-made melt and pour soap or lotion bases here! Also, no harsh chemicals, phthalates, parabens, or GMO ingredients are used in my products.
